Park Rest Journal — October 2026 · Editor's letter
Dear readers, October in North Cyprus is the month when the air cools faster than the sea — you can swim comfortably right through to the end of the month, even into November. The beach crowds have thinned out, the sun warms rather than scorches, and it's the best time for those after a relaxed holiday rather than a tan at any cost.
The olive and grape harvest is in full swing, and pomegranates, figs and carob are showing up at the markets in Kyrenia (Girne) and Nicosia (Lefkoşa) — worth a visit even if a food tour wasn't on your list. Some seasonal beach bars are still open in October, though a few are already cutting their hours as winter approaches, so check ahead before you set off to avoid turning up to closed doors.
In this issue: how to plan the drive from Ercan Airport and what to watch out for on the road, where the sea is still warm enough for swimming in October and where you'll want a light jacket for the evenings. We cover the markets and what's made from the fresh harvest, map out routes around Kyrenia and the surrounding area, and share practical tips for anyone planning a longer stay on the island.
And a short update on the Park Rest project: the beachfront residences in Lefke are under construction, with the club due to open in 2028.
Warm regards, the Park Rest team
